Needs and the difference between women and men who are incarcerated

There are three essential needs that a woman must have to be successful upon her release.

Home- she needs a home so that she can have somewhere secure to rest her head, something to call her own and something to keep her out of harms way, this will keep her on the right path.

Job- she needs a job to support her, to be able to get her the other necessities that she needs and desires on a day to day basis.  Having a job will not only make her successful but also responsible upon her release.

Clothes and Food- this is a essential need because without food and clothes she will not be able to make it in society.  While in prison you are given a job, somewhere to lay you head, food and clothes.  These are given to you and these are the things that she needs to be able to succeed in society.

Women are not given the opportunities afforded to men while in prison and out in society.  There is a huge differences in the way women are treated in the Wisconsin prison than men.  Men are able to touch each other without going to segregation.  Women are locked up or given a conduct reports.

What needs to happen is fair treatment for all instead of if you are a woman you are treated this way and if you are a man you are treated that way.

Pro 29:18 "Where [there is] no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy [is] he." I believe that there is little or no hope fostered within the prison system for men or women. There IS however, much fear. We, as people, are self-fulfilling prophecies - and as such, if we are hope less, we see no possible future. Where there is Vision of success - our hope is anchored and we are ready to face the giants in our path.

It is ironic how men who are in released from prison sometimes have numerous opportunities to gain a living yet women don't but outside of jail, there are so many agencies out here to help women and aid to them yet the help men get is minimal. What does this say about how the state determines who qualifies for a chance, male or female; incarcerated or not. Given the proper tools couple with drive women who are released from prison have a better chance at success than they believe. Anything is possible with God's helping hands.
